A Miracle for Sundays Scribbling Entry

Through out my 54 summers I have countless times heard the "expression" of a miracle that has happen, "Oh my God that is a miracle!"
I have been told story's in reference to a miracle " It was a miracle!"
**

I have found that if I pay close enough attention to what appears to be the miracle I find no evidence, just many natural explanations of such occurrence.
**

I will not deny I have in years passed I have a few times prayed for a miracle.
**

Once I left my sisters side as she laid on her death bed and went into the hospital chapel and gave it all I had with some twisted form of prayer with desperate tears begging and pleading for her life.
**

I made promises I could never keep at that time.... looking back I feel a personal "shame on me."
I didn't believe in prayer, not really, not truthfully yet I there I was...asking and for myself.
**

She did make it through her "In Gods hands" seven day state of being and I have her now but the fact remains there was never a God's intervention at work, it was a modern medical intervention.
**

I found out later that the coma was Valium induced, which has a slow onset but log duration of action.
**
She had a leaking brain aneurysm and after the surgery the Dr's placed her in the coma to let the brain rest. The risk was that she would die from an overdose or complications from the surgery.
**

I myself have to question... have I witnessed a real miracle?
**
A true act of God's intervention, something more then mere chance.
**
The closest I have come to believing in a miracle is watching with open eyes the birth of new life...a startling event for me.
**
Then again I find myself thinking "wouldn't that make conception a common event of nature? "
**
Yes.
**

Yet I have to admit that the whole design of new life rather it be human, animal, plant, a star, a planet or a new galaxy just simply has to be a miracle, after all it does change your life unknowingly forever.
**
The explanation for such designs of new life goes way beyond my bounds of explanations for complete comprehension, therefor a miracle.

  1. I believe that God has His intervention in all things happen around us. Only, we human, alway try to find an explanation to them.
We found some so easily, but same come later.
However, God has told us to learn, and that's exactly what we do by finding reasons of any occurrence.

  4. I think as you do that life itself is a miracle but that other occurrences that masquerade as "miracles" have natural explanations. You have expressed it well.

  5. Everything is a miracle, but not a mystical one. I can't think why people can accept that God just 'is' but can't accept that Life just 'is'.

  6. Starting over. I had typed 3 paragraphs! I loved reading your views on miracles. Even though I believe in miracles, I know they are rare. I agree that many things people call a miracle is just life. We all have to do our best with what we're given, but wouldn't that occasional miracle be nice...

While here I also enjoyed looking through your photos. Sweet grandkids.
